Welcome from the Principal
Welcome to St. Mary School!
Dear St. Mary Catholic School Community and Prospective Families,
I welcome you to St. Mary Catholic School in Mayville, Wisconsin and hope you will not only take time to explore our website, but visit our school in person. Choosing a Catholic education for your children is a major decision and a tremendous sacrifice. At St. Mary, we appreciate and understand that sacrifice. We are a 3K-2nd grade elementary school with a 6-week-old to school age childcare center that appreciates all unique gifts and talents.
When visiting St. Mary, you will have the opportunity to experience the warm and caring environment where the focus is educating the whole child. We are not merely a school, we are a loving family where students, teachers, parents, grandparents, and many others work together to support our mission. From the moment you step into our school, you quickly feel the excitement our children have for learning. We strive to recognize the gifts and strengths of our students. We are so blessed by teachers and staff who give so much, and with families who share their time, talents, and treasures within our learning community. It is through this partnership that we prepare our students to become leaders and stewards.
St. Mary is committed to providing an excellent education in a faith filled environment. Our high standards are set to achieve the best academic performance from our students. Curriculum guidelines and state standards set forth by the Milwaukee Archdiocese and the State of Wisconsin are followed in all subject areas. In addition to strong academics, students grow in their understanding and experience of the Catholic faith. We have a predominant sense of Catholic identity which is evident in daily prayer, weekly liturgies, participation in the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion and frequent participation in daily activities that enhance the understanding of the Catholic faith.
Our low student to teacher ratios offer our teachers the opportunity to provide more individualized and engaging instruction to our students, as well as to focus on all areas of development, including social, emotional and spiritual. Additionally, our students form closer bonds with each other that go beyond their own age groups and extend beyond their time at St. Mary.
Great things are happening every day at St. Mary and I feel extremely honored and blessed to be a part of this community. I welcome and invite you to consider giving your child the opportunity to become part of the St. Mary family. To schedule a tour of the school or to have your child “shadow” a St. Mary student, please contact the school office at 920-387-2920 ext 328.
Blessings to you,
Mrs. Mary Yauck
